Mr. Kavin’s institutions serve more than 7000 students every year.
In this candid talk with GCP, Ayaan Zubair Rahmai shares his experience of how he became a star.
Tell Us About Your Family, Ayaan.
I just turned thirteen on 12 August 2020, and I feel proud to be recognized at this such young age. My family and my fans play a huge role in what I am today.
My father, Mr. Zubair Rahmani, was also an artist in the Doordarshan channel, which later he left for my elder sister Jannat and me. I gave my first audition when I was only 6-months old and started professional acting when I was 4-years-old.
Your sister is also a popular actress, how is your chemistry with her?
I am six years younger than my sister Jannat Zubair and our chemistry as brother-sister is too beautiful and loved by the public very much. My sister Jannat is the youngest to have the most Instagram followers in India. She is also an actress in TV Serials and Bollywood movies, and she started acting when she was just 7-years-old. Currently, I have more than 1 million followers on Instagram and counting every day.
Do you enjoy acting? What is one of the best memories you have on set?
I do enjoy acting a lot. Whenever we go to shoot, we act for at least 12 hours, and the best part is we meet new people. There are more than 100 people on the set at a time & it is a great feeling for me, and I love it. I learned Horse-riding when I was shooting for the serial Jodha Akbar. Where I met the popular Indian actor Salman Khan and also played cricket with him. Salman Khan was shooting for one of his movies at that time. It was one of Ayaan’s best memories ever.
Any specific person that you would like to work with again?
I have done more than 12 shows, along with some movies. Most of the movies done by him have been nominated for Oscar Awards. One such movie is Gully Boy. I’m a huge fan of King Khan. I have also worked with him in an advertisement. He said that he would love to act again with Shah Rukh Khan as his brother if he gets a chance.
“I enjoy acting for the serials more because, in movies, they shoot for a fixed time, but I like to shoot for 12 hours or more. Also, I love to make new friends.” – Ayaan Zubair
How Do you balance your studies and Acting?
I’m an eighth-grader, student of Oxford Public School, Mumbai, and can manage his studies and act. He said that there is a worksheet system in his school so, he goes to school, gets the worksheets, and studies on set or at home.
I believe that “If a child likes to play cricket or to swim or anything else, then his/her parents should let their kid do that. There is no age to do such things.”
Ayaan’s parents always support him in everything he wants to do. He Plays Cricket, Badminton, Swimming, etc. Ayaan is a Bronze medalist in Martial Arts, a District level player in Badminton, and does swimming very well. Ayaan also loves to play online videos games. I play Fortnite but is not addicted to such games.
“It is not life, it is just a video game” – Zubair exclaimed
His parents appreciate him in everything, and that is such a great blessing. Ayaan never feels that he is missing something out.
What is Ayaan Very Passionate About, After Acting?
I was too young when I started acting. He says that he might be doing swimming if he was not in acting, which he learned on his own without taking any training. He will follow his hobbies – martial arts, swimming, cricket, etc. part-time, along with acting. Ayaan’s role model is Vidyut Jammwal because he is very good at all the things that the 13-years-old wants to do in his life.
How Does Ayaan Feel About Being a Global Child Prodigy Awardee?
I feel very happy to receive the Global Child Prodigy Awards. He was among the Top 100 child prodigies of the year 2020. It was one of the most meaningful award ceremonies he has ever attended.
Ayaan says, “Every kid from the GCP Awards is awesome in their field. I saw someone doing Martial arts, someone doing painting, etc. They were just amazing on their own.”
“It feels awesome that at a very young age, I have achieved such fame. Whenever I go outside, people recognize me even if I am wearing a mask. It is an amazing feeling.”- Ayaan says.
